Etsitewathahera’ne – Land Based Therapy

Etsitewathahera’ne — meaning We Shall Get Back on Our Path — is a land-based therapy program that offers a gentle, culturally rooted alternative to traditional office-based therapy. Run out of Planting Seeds of Hope, a 46-acre organic farm, the program invites individuals and families of all ages to reconnect with the land as a source of healing, strength, and balance. Here, therapy takes place among the trees, near the wetlands, through the walking trails, and beside the medicine garden—creating a setting that naturally calms the nervous system, opens the heart, and grounds the spirit.

Unlike conventional therapy settings, land-based therapy supports movement, creativity, and connection. It is especially helpful for those who may find it difficult to sit still or express themselves in an office environment—such as children, youth, neurodiverse individuals and trauma survivors. The land provides a sense of spaciousness and safety, helping people feel more at ease and allowing healing to unfold in its own natural rhythm. Whether sitting in the forest, harvesting medicines, or simply walking and talking, clients are supported in reconnecting with themselves, the land, and their path forward.
